The Door of Life and Death

I played around with this door before, but I just wanted to try again.

Constance McGovern is a scam psychic. However, that doesn't mean that she's not interested in the afterlife...
She heard from Wu Kim that the Grim Reaper actually has a door in the deepest basement of the local church, so she decides to check it out.

Aaron Wilson, the local preacher, doesn't give her any information. All he wants to talk about is the weather.

So Constance decides to go look for herself. She brings her guitar, and challenges Grim to a duel.

She loses the first battle, but jumps out of the way.

She does win the next two battles, though. Grim is impressed, and gives her a death flower both times.

And then she loses again. This time, Emmy the Pit Monster grabs her from behind.

For some weird reason, Emmy can't seem to drag Constance down all the way... There's a 'routing failure', and she ends up back home.
But so does Grim.

Constance still has those death flowers, though.

So she lives to scam people another day... And now, she has a little bit more authority when she talks of the afterlife! And she still has one death flower.

She does brag about her near-death experience to her currently ex-wife Rosanna. (They split up regularly, and it never takes more than ten minutes of friendly conversation to get them to agree to re-marry... It's a weird relationship!)

Rosanna, never inclined to underestimate herself, thinks she can do better than Constance. She wants one of those pretty death flowers for herself - think of how much more evil she can do if she can cheat death!

Hm. That didn't go well. She practices her guitar a bit, and comes back with slightly more skill. Now she should be able to beat Grim!

But no...

She tries again. When she rings the doorbell, she gets a message:

Well, that's a fair warning. Maybe you should listen? But of course she doesn't.

Third time is a charm. Not for Rosanna, but for Emmy the Pit Monster.

She does actually get dragged down to the bottom of the pit, where she drowns (presumably in the tears of those who went before her... LOL!!)

Aaron comes running, but there's not much he can do.

Actually, there's not much Aaron *wants* to do. He's a coward, and he has to live with Grim in his basement for the rest of his life...

Poor Rosanna. Nobody has any mercy. (Well, what did she expect?)

Aaron can't stand being so near Grim for such a long time. And a ghost. And an urn... It's too much...

In the meantime, Constance isn't really affected by Rosanna's death. She'll probably end up missing her later, but at the moment she's just too angry.
Their family doesn't know they were divorced yet again, so she just gets all of Rosanna's belongings, and gets to arrange the funeral.

She does actually do a good job, and makes a nice, loving speech. And she does make sure Rosanna is in a grave where she can be buried next to her.
Like I said, it's a weird relationship. They can't live together, but they can't live without each other either.

And when people comment that she's not crying, she just tells them that Rosanna isn't really gone. She is still in touch with Rosanna's spirit, in the afterlife. After all, she is a Celebrity Psychic.
