How it all started...

Somewhere around April or May 2010 I downloaded a new world called Fort Sim. I decided to make a new family for this world, and just let the game bring in the townies this time. I played without mods, and started out with only very little custom content, playing on a 'normal' (90 day) lifespan.

So I created Daisy and David Adams. David is a vegetarian. He is brave, disciplined and hydrophobic - and also mean-spirited, so it's better not to tease him about his fear of water, he wouldn't appreciate being laughed at.
David's LTW is to become an astronaut.

Daisy is brave and athletic. She doesn't have a sense of humour (so she doesn't feel the need to tease David, probably), and has a green thumb. She's also a great kisser. Her LTW is to have a perfect garden.

I used the CAS option to 'blend' them to make their two toddler sons, Frederick and Elden.

This is David with Frederick:

And Daisy with Elden:

They moved into an empty lot inside the 'fort' of Fort Sim, because David was in the millitary.
Daisy rolled the wish to become a scientist. She started out learning about gardening (because botany is important in the science career) and planted the free seeds she got when she finished chapter 1 of her gardening book.

At first they had no money at all for a house, and merely put the basic necessities out on the lawn. Fortunately it never rains in Fort Sim.

The fort had a mess hall, where they could eat, and a shower in the Officer's Club that they were allowed to use. It even had a bar.

In spite of their busy careers, they took out time to be with their sons. Even if that meant losing sleep.

So, by the time they had their first birthday, both of the boys were potty-trained and had learned to walk and talk.

Since they were created in CAS they had a few days' age difference, so they needed a cake to age up on the same day. (It also meant they had only about 3 days before aging up - which is why David and Daisy were in such a hurry to teach them!)

As you can see, they were still saving up for a house. They sold the cribs and bought two larger beds.

The boys aged up in typical EA-fashion sense, of course. Elden didn't look so bad:

But Frederick seems to have aged up in his PJs:

They both had to go to school now. And Daisy and David finally got to sleep at night instead of spending time teaching the boys.

Now that they were no longer exhausted, they were finally able to put some effort into their work. Pretty soon they both got promoted. And a few days later David got promoted again, and they had enough bonus money to finally build a small house - millitary style, of course, to fit in with all the other houses in the fort.

They ended up building a mirror image of the house across the street. Or rather, half of the house across the street, which was all they had money for:

In the meantime Daisy had been improving their garden. She tried to replace all her plants with better quality seeds after every harvest.
And because she was in the science track, she also brought home several interesting plants from work. She even got a deathflower out of one of her experiments.

During the boys' schooldays, David and Daisy spent a lot of time working hard, to earn more promotions. Daisy also started selling some of her vegetables and fruit.
From the money they brought in they bought wallpaper, flooring, better quality beds, and a dresser - the boys really needed decent clothes!

Elden was born an absent-minded loner. When he aged up, they discovered he was also very artistic. Fortunately there was an easel at the Officers' Club, so they didn't have to spend money getting him art supplies.

Frederick, on the other hand, was born brave and athletic. On his first birthday he gained a love for the outdoors, so while Elden was usually inside painting, Frederick played outside, gathering rocks and bugs.

They soon had enough money for the second half of the house:

After a very short time, they boys had another birthday. Elden actually aged up while he was painting, and he must have been thinking of something exotic, because he aged up looking like an Egyptian. He also gained the 'bookworm' trait.

He didn't realy care for the look - and he didn't want to be teased at school either - so he went in search of a dresser to find something better to wear.

He found Frederick in their bedroom, also looking for something better to wear. Frederick had aged up 'disciplined', and was already talking of martial art classes.

The differences between them couldn't be more clear than in this picture - look at Frederick's arms compared to his brother's!
